Doctors at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey demonstrated with brain scans that acupuncture relieves pain. Researchers induced pain in the upper lips of twelve subjects which resulted in increased brain activity and blood flow to the brain, as shown on magnetic resonance imaging devices (MRI’s). The researchers then inserted acupuncture needles into a traditional hand point for pain. As the pain diminished, the MRI’s showed the activity in the brain decreasing 60-70%. “So many people with pain, whether from cancer, headache or a chronic condition, rely on medications such as morphine, which can become addicting. Acupuncture has no side effects, and other studies have shown the pain relief it provides can last for months,” says co-author study Huey-Jen Lee. Acupuncture can treat most medical problems from rashes to back pain. Injuries heal faster when treated with Acupuncture.

I am spreading the word about how well this treatment works with everyone I know. Thanks so much for your great care.”

For over 5 years, I have suffered from chronic neck and shoulder pain. On a level of 1-10 (10 being the worst pain and 0 being no pain) my pain was constantly at a 7 on the “good days.” After a few months of receiving acupuncture on a regular basis from Steven Sonmore this has made a HUGH difference in my life. One thing I am able to do now that I couldn’t do before is to turn my head enough to drive safely. That is something that most people take for granted. Thanks!”
